A flooding threat in the South on Monday will also affect the planes and South on Wednesday, while heavy snow in the West and North will move to the Plains and East late in the week. Today’s weather alerts and 3-day forecast.

Here are Monday’s weather alerts from the National Weather Service (NWS).

Avalanche warning: western Colorado and eastern Utah.

Avalanche watch: West-central Colorado.

Winter weather advisory for portions of Northern California, Eastern Washington, northern Idaho, Montana, southeastern Wyoming, Northeastern Utah, Northwestern Colorado, and southern Wisconsin.

High wind watch: Southeastern Wyoming.

3-day forecast and beyond: Snow throughout the week, multi-day flood threat

Here is the 3-day forecast from the National Weather Service (NWS).

Monday: Snow in West/Central US, Flood risk in East

Snow in the West will span from California to the Great Lakes on Monday over portions of California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico, as well as into the central US over the Dakotas, Nebraska, Minnesota, and northern Michigan.

Heavy snow is possible over portions of California, Idaho, Montana, and Colorado, where avalanche warnings are in place (see above).

Possible freezing rain over portions of Iowa and Wisconsin.

In the South, thunderstorms will stretch from Texas to the Carolinas and north to the Virginias.

Heavy rain with potential flash flooding over portions of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Tuesday: Snow along the northern tier and in the West; thunderstorms in the East

Snow along the northern tier over portions of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Heavy snow over parts of Idaho and Montana.

Snow in other portions of the West over parts of California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.

Thunderstorms will stretch from New Mexico to the East Coast over the southern plains, South, Southeast, Midsouth, and Ohio Valley.

Rain for the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, which could also see some mixed precipitation in the northern regions.

Wednesday: Snow moves east, flooding threat for Plains and South

Snow in the West over parts of California, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico and into the Midwest over parts of Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois, as well as farther north over the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and northern Michigan.

Thunderstorms will stretch from New Mexico to the Southeast, bringing heavy rain and potential flooding over portions of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, and southern Illinois.

Scattered rain for the deep South. Rain over the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, with possible mixed precipitation over the northern regions of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Thursday and beyond:

Snow likely in the East on Thursday into Friday for the upper Midwest, northern Ohio Valley, moving into the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, the Weather Channel reported.

Rain for the East throughout the week into the weekend.

Possible flooding rain through Tennessee and southern Kentucky into the weekend.
